Where to start!!! I'm so behind on my blog entries, it's all accumulating... and soon I won't even be able to remember where I took the photos, or even where I went.. or what food I ate...

So here I am, relaxing because uni's finished. Should really be doing my placement notes, but hey, gotta have a break. My sister's coming back pretty soon, less than a month I think, and she's planning this big photoshoot for herself and her fiance. At the current moment, I cannot imagine a photoshoot in Sydney, with all that heavy rain and chilling winds. Today was absolutely crazy- if I hadn't worn boots and didn't have the clear umbrella that covers the complete top half of me, face and all, I'd be feeling like a drenched chicken. (Note: it's days like today that I feel... even though that umbrella looks weird, it's the best thing I've ever bought, haha.)

I shall start with this:
From Week 22, 2010
Cement gadget that I saw somewhere. I've stopped remembering where I see these things, but still like taking photos of them because they're so random. This one says "Isolation", but just today, I saw one that says "stop".

From Week 22, 2010
One day, my parents decided to eat out for dinner as a family because that hardly ever happens, and whenever it does, it's... at Jane's Kitchen. They really like that place because there's no msg in the food and my mum absolutely adores their tou fu dishes. She orders this one every. single. time.

From Week 22, 2010
Yep, more tofu. And fish. In a clay pot.

From Week 22, 2010
I was literally begging for something different and this is what I got: Duck with taro! Yay, meat!! And duck to boot, my favourite bird... to eat that is.

From Week 22, 2010
Wednesday night after a long day at placement, met with tt for dinner. It's not really something we do every week, but fairly often now. We didn't meet for dinner this week because I stayed till 7pm at Penrith. It was literally from 9:00-19:00 that I was at the centre, and walking from campus to the train station by myself through this park freaked me out bad, but it's all good.

From Week 22, 2010
My chopsticks from Ton Ton... it means I have extremely good luck ok! ><

From Week 22, 2010
tt's karaage don. I couldn't have any because there's this massive 5-in-1 ulcer in my mouth.

From Week 22, 2010
Nothing stops me from having gyoza though. Or, as some people literally translates it, "pot stickers" *snicker*. It's so funny how people translate Asian dishes into English in a very literal way.

From Week 22, 2010
Because the weather's been cold, this is what everyone should have every night before sleeping: hot chocolate. Actually, tt bought it from the supermarket and I was carrying it... was meant to return it to him before I boarded the bus, but I conveniently forgot. Mine now!

From Week 22, 2010
So what you do is, you get the tiniest cup possible, and put this big chunk of dark chocolate- good qualities ones, mind you, into the base, and add as many teaspoons of chocolate powder as you like. Usually any number between 4 and 10 is good- you don't want to overdo it.

From Week 22, 2010
Heat up some full cream milk (skim is for the weak), pour it into the cup and stir vigorously for a minute or until fully dissolved.

From Week 22, 2010
Because I didn't use dark chocolate that's meant for cooking, it didn't fully dissolve, but that's what made it so good.

From Week 22, 2010
That Friday, I met up with JC (she was the one who gave me Buzzer Beat, and a Yamapi photobook, and some Yamapi posters too for my birthday =D she really knows me well, haha) for lunch. We were going to go to Assiette, but then changed our minds at the last minute and headed to "Mohr Fish" at Surry Hills instead. At 202 Devonshire Street, it's right next to a bar called Shakespeare- they seem to work together really well. Throughout our meal, we saw heaps of people come in from Shakespeare, order some takeaway, head back to Shakespeare, order some ale, and when their food is ready, they'll come and take it back to the bar to enjoy.

From Week 22, 2010
We just decided to have it at Mohr Fish rather than in some bar, being the non-alcoholics that we are. I'm actually not quite sure what this bottle has, but it looks nice as a photo =)

From Week 22, 2010
Upon being seated (we went there fairly early, so even though the place doesn't take bookings, we were the first ones there), the waitress placed a basket of bread and butter for us to enjoy while deciding what we wanted to order. At this point, there were already quite a line of takeaway orders in the queue... from people at the bar.

From Week 22, 2010
JC said they're famous for their fish and chips, but I don't think anything will beat Windsor's Fish and Chips, so we ordered stuff from the menu. Mine: Snapper with pine nuts and grapes.

From Week 22, 2010
A closeup. I absolutely loved this. Pine nuts and grapes with olive oil goes so well with grilled fish, and there's potato gratin at the bottom of the fish. Served with salad, it makes a healthy dish (as opposed to chips).

From Week 22, 2010
JC ordered a monkfish with mango salsa. You can swap the fish and sauces around, so originally this came with some other type of fish.

From Week 22, 2010
Mango salsa close-up =) This was good, but I think mine was better =D There were some other dishes on the menu that I wanted to try, but seriously, one plate per person is more than enough. I blame all that potato!!!

From Week 22, 2010
Though we didn't have much difficulty finishing our plates (food was delicious and... well, kinda healthy, with fruits and veggies), we were absolutely stuffed full. Total cost? At $24 per person, you're really paying for the fresh fish, so it's pretty standard.

From Week 22, 2010
You'd think I won't have room for dinner, but guess again. Met with tt to play the UFO catchers at Capitol Square. JC wanted this "tofu" soft toy that was in there and tt managed to get it in 4 tries. Then it was to Pepper Lunch for some cow.

From Week 22, 2010
No surprise, the next day, I just had salad.

From Week 22, 2010
And organic coke.

Wow, the snapper with pine nuts and grapes looks really good.

You should get some medicine for that ulcer by the way, it looked quite painful ><

It wasn't this bad to begin with, but because it's at my bottom lip, I keep accidentally biting into it and my teeth marks made the other 4 ulcers, so it's 5-in-1.

Hm.. You didn't need to know that =P

And yup, Mohr Fish is a great restaurant, I don't understand why people whinge about it on eatability... they don't know what they're on about =_= uncultured ppls...

haha.. my relatives were obsessed with Jane's kitchen at 1 stage too.. but after a few tries of having 'family gathering dinner' there, someone finally figured that place is a bit small to fit all of us... haha..

=D I guess most Asian parents will like the food cos it's rather "light" compared to other restaurants... at least you have a big family as an excuse, but I don't have large family gatherings, so Jane's Kitchen is the perfect place (until we start going there each time!!)
